Rules of Entry

NumberWorks’nWords International Writing Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. The Competition has two age group categories, primary and senior.
  2. Competition is only open to students attending a NumberWorks’nWords centre.
  3. Each NumberWorks’nWords centre will award prizes for the winning entries at the centre.  All Centre winners will automatically be entered in to the International Competition.
  4. All Prizes will be given by the manager of the NumberWorks’nWords centre the students are attending.
  5. The date of the judging of the centre competition will be given to all competitors and will be publicly displayed in the NumberWorks’nWords centre.
  6. Entries must be no longer than 1000 words. Entries must be the student’s own work, written in English, and submitted as legible hard copies on paper provided. Entries will not be returned.
  7. All entries must clearly state the student’s name, age and centre name.
  8. There is a limit of one entry per child.
  9. The winners of the UK competition will be published online at www.numberworksnwords.com during the week commencing  2nd May 2011
  10. Entry into the competition implies that permission has been given to publish the stories.
  11. The three International Competition winning stories will be published online on the NumberWorks’nWords website, along with winners’ names, ages and NumberWorks’nWords Centre name. They may also be published in other mediums if the possibility arises.
  12. No cash alternative or alternative prize is available.
  13. We reserve the right to remove votes that we believe to be fraudulent or disqualify the entry altogether if we believe cheating is occurring.
