I love learning, and am very grateful for the educational opportunities I have had. My life-long passion for sharing that love of learning with others led me to become a teacher, qualifying in Primary Education in 1976.  I have been involved in teaching, in one form or another, ever since.

In my extensive teaching career I have worked with a wide variety of age groups.  Over the years , I have taught in Nursery, Infant, Junior, and Secondary Schools, as well as having done a 6-year stint in a Sixth Form College.

I also have more than 14 years' experience as a private tutor.  I particularly love tutoring because, by tailoring a programme of study to an individual learner's needs, one can quickly see a transformation in that young person.

At NumberWorks'nWords, I and my tutors come alongside, and use carefully devised material, within a supportive environment. We are very effective in changing a young person's attitudes and abilities; we see them move from failure to success, and from negative attitudes to believing in themselves.
