Manager: Charlotte Tait
Hi, my name is Charlotte Tait. I'm originally from the U.S.A. but have lived in New Zealand for almost 13 years. My family and I love it here and have made Wellington our home.
I have worked in education for 25 years, both in the States and in New Zealand. After finishing my graduate degree I worked as a School Counsellor in a number of schools with children from Year 0 to University.
In 1996 my husband, Paul, and I packed up our 4-year-old daughter and moved across the world to New Zealand. I started work at Muritai School the next year and then moved to Chilton St. James School where I stayed for the next 10 years.
I came to NumberWorks'nWords in Term 2 2008 as manager of the Hutt Valley Centre. It has been a wonderful year getting to know so many new people and working from another perspective in education. I feel very fortunate to have found such a good mix of administration, teaching and sheer fun!

Term 4 Begins 12 October
We are taking enrolments for Term 4 now. If your child is a past student, maybe you are worried about NCEA or End of the Year exams and would like us to do a free assessment to see if there are any Maths or English areas that need sharpening. Please give us a call and we can organise a time for you to come in soon. New families, please phone or email to arrange a time that suits you and your child to come in for a free assessment and introductory lesson, and to find out how NumberWorks'nWords works. We will also run a Cram Saturday on the 14 November for all NCEA Level 1 past, present or future students. Call now to enrol in this study session, places are limited.
Who benefits from NumberWorks'nWords?
Your child will. Whether they are top of their class, bottom of their class or somewhere in between, your child will benefit from enjoying maths or English at NumberWorks'nWords each week.
We believe that children learn best when they enjoy what they are doing. Giving children an early maths boost is significant because studies have shown that differences in mathematical ability between children in the first year at school persist into secondary education.
Studies have shown that a child who completes their school year with a positive attitude toward learning is more likely to begin the next year with less anxiety, stress and more confidence. This confidence will assist with the transition to a new class, teacher or a change of school.
